Blues Sweater

I found the Blues Sweater pattern at FreePatterns.com It's actually called Sporty Sweater at that site. You'll have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see it. I call my rendition Blues Sweater ... well, because it's three shades of blue. This sweater only took me a few days to make.

The pattern was easy to understand. It is a PDF downloadable file. I've had it in my files for a while now, just waiting for the right time to make it. That time came just before one grandson's 4th birthday. He asked for a blue sweater. That's what I call a done deal!

I used I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby for this project. The skeins are 7 oz. and 355 yards. I made the 4-6 size. The project called for 8 ounces of 3 colors to make that size. It didn't indicate how many ounces the skeins were but I did buy 2 skeins of the darkest blue and the lightest blue. I only bought 1 skein of the medium blue. I did have leftovers on all three colors. Which is fine, it goes into my scrap bin for some future project! And I really do 'Love This Yarn'! It's very soft, doesn't split and washes nicely.

Except for the color change I followed the pattern exactly. I think it worked up nicely. And, it was fun to do because of the cable work that is in it. I will definitely use this pattern AND this yarn again.
